Department of Public Administration FISIP Universitas Diponegoro Collaborates with the Asia Research Institute, National University of Singapore (NUS) to Host UNDIP Global Classroom

Semarang, 7 May 2026 – The Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Universitas Diponegoro, once again organized an international-level academic program through the UNDIP Global Classroom initiative. This activity reflects the Department’s commitment to strengthening the internationalization of learning and expanding global academic networks through collaboration with the Asia Research Institute (ARI), National University of Singapore (NUS).

This UNDIP Global Classroom session was conducted as part of the Development Planning and Control course, carrying a timely and strategic theme titled “Nusantara and Mega Development Projects: Planning and Socio-Environmental Impacts.” The theme encourages critical discussion on the dynamics of large-scale development planning and the social and environmental impacts that emerge as consequences of mega projects, particularly in the context of the development of Nusantara, Indonesia’s new capital city, which has become a major national spotlight.

The session featured Dr. Priza Marendraputra, a researcher at the Asia Research Institute and an academic affiliated with the National University of Singapore (NUS), as the main speaker. The discussion was moderated by Damaris Bernike Bellastuti, M.A. In this forum, Dr. Priza presented a research-based academic perspective on development governance challenges, spatial planning issues, and the socio-ecological consequences that often arise from rapid and massive development projects.

In addition, the session also invited discussants from the academic community of the Department of Public Administration, FISIP Undip, namely Dr. Dra. Dyah Lituhayu, M.Si., Satria Aji Imawan, S.IP., MPA., and Yoga Aldi Saputra, S.AP., MPA. Their contributions enriched the discussion through critical responses and strengthened the relevance of the topic within Indonesia’s public policy context.

This UNDIP Global Classroom activity was held online on Thursday, 7 May 2026, from 07.30 to 09.30 WIB. Through this forum, students and members of the academic community were expected to gain deeper insights into national development challenges, environmental sustainability issues, as well as governance and development planning perspectives in a global context.

The implementation of this program further reaffirmed the position of the Department of Public Administration, FISIP Undip, as an academic institution actively contributing to the strengthening of public administration scholarship. The Department continues to play a role not only through education and research, but also through the development of strategic academic discourse relevant to contemporary development issues.

Through UNDIP Global Classroom, the Department of Public Administration, FISIP Undip, hopes to continuously expand opportunities for international collaboration and encourage the growth of critical thinking among students in understanding the complexity of development and public policy in the modern era.
