FISIP Undip’s Public Governance Expertise Group (KBK) Holds “Citation Clinic” to Strengthen International Research Reputation within the World Class University Program

Semarang, May 13, 2026 – The Public Governance Expertise Group (KBK), Department of Public Administration, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Diponegoro University, organized a Citation Clinic activity as part of the Scientific Consortium series funded by the Undip World Class University (WCU) program. The event took place in the Antawirya Room, FISIP Undip Campus, Tembalang.

This activity was initiated by a team of experts led by Prof. Hartuti Purnaweni, along with Dr. Amni Zarkasyi Rahman, Dra. Maesaroh, M.Si., Nilam Andini Rakhma, MAP, and Junjung Sahala, MAP. The main focus of this consortium is the preparation of an international Book Chapter to be published by a globally reputable publisher, IGI Global, entitled “Navigating Global Mangrove Management: International Academic Collaboration on Policy and Practice.”

Global Collaboration from 11 Countries
This book represents a tangible form of international academic collaboration involving 85 authors from 11 countries, including Bangladesh, Ethiopia, India, Egypt, Malaysia, Mexico, Portugal, China, the United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, and Indonesia. To date, 30 proposals have been accepted, of which 15 have progressed to the full chapter stage.

WCU Citation Enhancement Strategy
One of the crucial points in this Citation Clinic is the strategy to increase the visibility of Diponegoro University’s research on the global stage. Authors contributing to this book are invited to include at least 15 citations from scientific articles authored by Diponegoro University lecturers. This strategic step is expected to boost the university’s citation scores in international rankings.

“Mangroves have a strategic role in climate change adaptation and the strengthening of the blue economy. Through this book, we are not only sharing knowledge on mangrove governance across countries but also ensuring that Undip’s academic works are recognized and cited by international researchers,” said Prof. Hartuti Purnaweni during the opening of the event.

Publication Schedule
The completion process for this book will continue until the end of 2026. The deadline for submitting full manuscripts is scheduled for June 11, 2026, followed by a rigorous review process until finalization in October 2026.

This activity is expected to act as a catalyst for other departments and faculties at Undip to continue innovating in enhancing academic reputation towards becoming a World Class University.
