DAY 1 – BENCHMARKING Student Association of Public Administrastion FISIP UNDIP (HMPS AP FISIP UNDIP) X Student Association of Public Administrastion FISIP UNPAD (HIMA FISIP AP UNPAD)
Bandung, (21/06/2026). As a student organization committed to developing organizational quality and professionalism, the Student Association of the Public Administration Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Diponegoro University (HMPS AP FISIP UNDIP) continues to strive to broaden its insights and improve the quality of organizational governance through benchmarking activities. This activity serves as a forum for the management to learn, compare, and evaluate the work systems of other organizations in order to gain various references that can be applied in the future development of the association.
In order to realize this objective, HMPS AP FISIP UNDIP conducted a Benchmarking activity with the Public Administration Student Association, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Padjadjaran University (HIMA AP FISIP UNPAD) on Sunday, June 21, 2026. The activity, which took place at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Padjadjaran, served as a means for the exchange of information, experiences, and best practices in the management of student organizations between the two associations.
The official event commenced at 08:00 AM WIB with an opening by the Master of Ceremony (MC), followed by the singing of the Indonesian national anthem Indonesia Raya, the Universitas Diponegoro March, and the HIMA AP FISIP UNPAD Hymn together. After that, the activity continued with a report delivered by the Person in Charge of the Comparative Study from HIMA AP FISIP UNPAD and a report from the Chief Executive of Benchmarking from HMPS AP FISIP UNDIP. The opening series was then followed by speeches from the Chairperson of HIMA AP FISIP UNPAD, the Chairperson of HMPS AP FISIP UNDIP, the Faculty Advisor of HIMA AP FISIP UNPAD, and the Faculty Advisor of HMPS AP FISIP UNDIP. In their remarks, all parties expressed the hope that this activity would serve as a shared learning medium while also strengthening institutional ties between the two associations.
Entering the main session, HMPS AP FISIP UNDIP and HIMA FISIP AP UNPAD alternately presented their organizational profiles, management structures, flagship work programs, and various innovations implemented during their respective terms. Through these presentation sessions, participants gained new insights into organizational management strategies, internal coordination mechanisms, and the implementation of effective and sustainable work programs. This activity also served as an opportunity for both associations to exchange information and enrich their references in running their organizational operations.
After the presentation session concluded, the atmosphere warmed up with a games session involving all participants. This activity served as a means to build rapport and strengthen relationships among members of both associations in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.
The series of activities then continued with a Forum Group Discussion (FGD) conducted based on respective departments. In this forum, participants discussed work programs, activity implementation mechanisms, challenges faced during their term, and future departmental development strategies. Through the FGD, both associations were able to exchange experiences and gain various new perspectives that could serve as material for evaluation and organizational development.
After all discussion sessions were completed, the activity continued with a bridging session, followed by an awarding ceremony, the exchange of plaques, and certificates as a form of appreciation and a symbol of the strong institutional relationship established between HMPS AP FISIP UNDIP and HIMA AP FISIP UNPAD. The event concluded with a joint documentation session, capturing the moments of togetherness among all participants.
To conclude the first day’s series of activities, all participants took part in a sightseeing visit to Gedung Sate, one of Bandung’s historic icons and the center of government for West Java Province. This visit provided participants with the opportunity to learn more about the history, cultural values, and distinctive architecture of Gedung Sate, which has become a symbol of pride for the people of West Java. In addition to serving as a recreational and educational activity, this visit was also used to strengthen relationships among participants in a more relaxed and friendly atmosphere after the series of benchmarking activities.
With its various informative, interactive, and collaborative activities, the Benchmarking conducted by HMPS AP FISIP UNDIP together with HIMA FISIP AP UNPAD successfully achieved its expected objectives. This activity not only broadened insights and enriched references for organizational development but also strengthened institutional ties between the two associations. It is hoped that the synergy that has been established will continue and have a positive impact on the development of the organizations and Public Administration students in the future.
DAY 2 – INSTITUTIONAL VISITS TO THE BANDUNG CITY REGIONAL PEOPLE’S REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL (DPRD) AND REGIONAL CIVIL SERVICE AND HUMAN RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT AGENCY (BKPSDM) BANDUNG CITY
Entering the second day of Visiting Day 2026, all participants began the activities with a group breakfast before continuing with the institutional visit agenda. In the morning, the HMPS Public Administration FISIP UNDIP group headed to the Bandung City DPRD (Regional People’s Representative Council) as their first destination. Upon arrival, participants registered and prepared before entering the activity room.
The activity at the Bandung City DPRD began with an opening by the Master of Ceremony (MC) and the singing of the Indonesian national anthem Indonesia Raya. Subsequently, the Chief Executive of Visiting Day 2026 delivered an activity report, followed by a speech from the Faculty Advisor of HMPS Public Administration FISIP UNDIP, Mr. Juang Abdi Muhammad, S.A.P., M.A.P. In his remarks, he expressed the hope that this activity would serve as a learning opportunity for students to directly understand public administration practices and regional governance.
The event then continued with a speech from Dr. H. Radea Respati Paramuditha, S.H., M.H., who also opened the material presentation session. In his speech, he expressed appreciation for the holding of Visiting Day 2026 and emphasized the importance of the role of the younger generation, particularly Public Administration students, in understanding the processes of governance and public policy formulation at the regional level.
Entering the main session, Dr. H. Radea Respati Paramuditha, S.H., M.H. delivered material on the roles and functions of the DPRD in the regional governance system, the process of public policy formulation, and the relationship between legislative institutions and the community in realizing effective governance. The material presented provided a real-life picture of the implementation of public administration within the regional government environment and enriched participants’ insights into the dynamics of legislative work.
Participants’ enthusiasm was evident during the question-and-answer session. Various questions were raised regarding the DPRD’s working mechanisms, regional legislative processes, and the challenges faced in carrying out oversight and public representation functions. This session was a valuable opportunity for participants to deepen their understanding and connect the theories learned in lectures with actual practices in the field.
Not only did participants gain academic insights, but the visit to the Bandung City DPRD also resulted in media collaboration between HMPS Public Administration FISIP UNDIP and the Bandung City DPRD through joint content creation published as Instagram Reels. This collaboration represented a form of synergy between students and government institutions in utilizing digital media as a means of education and disseminating information to the public regarding the roles and functions of the DPRD in regional governance.
As a token of appreciation for the knowledge and experience shared, the activity continued with the presentation of a plaque to the speaker. The event then concluded with a joint documentation session and an institutional tour, which gave participants the opportunity to become more familiar with the environment and facilities of the Bandung City DPRD.
After completing the visit to the Bandung City DPRD, participants took a break for rest, prayers, and a group lunch before continuing to the next agenda at the Bandung City Agency for Personnel and Human Resources Development (BKPSDM). Upon arrival, participants were directed into the room and attended a briefing before the activity began.
The activity at BKPSDM Bandung City was officially opened by the Master of Ceremony (MC) and began with the singing of the Indonesian national anthem Indonesia Raya. Next, the Chief Executive of Visiting Day 2026 delivered an activity report, followed by speeches from the Chairperson of HMPS Public Administration FISIP UNDIP, Aldi Sandika Purwana, and the Faculty Advisor of HMPS Public Administration FISIP UNDIP, Mochammad Rizki Fitrianto, M.A.P. The event then continued with a speech and official opening by the Head of BKPSDM Bandung City, H. Evi Hendrani, S.Sos., M.AP.
Entering the main session, participants received material delivered by Ringgas Hajopan Pane, S.STP. In his presentation, the speaker explained various aspects of civil service resource management, employee competency development, and the role of BKPSDM in supporting the improvement of the quality of the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) within the Bandung City Government. The material provided participants with new insights into human resource management in the public sector and various efforts made to realize a professional, competent, and adaptive bureaucracy.
The question-and-answer session was active and interactive. Participants took the opportunity to explore more in-depth information regarding ASN competency development processes, the talent management system, and various programs run by BKPSDM in support of bureaucratic reform and improving the quality of public services.
To conclude the activity, a plaque and certificate presentation was held for BKPSDM Bandung City as a form of appreciation for the knowledge and experience provided to the participants. The event then closed with a joint documentation session before all participants prepared for their return journey to Semarang.
Through the series of visits to the Bandung City DPRD and BKPSDM Bandung City, participants gained valuable learning experiences regarding public administration practices directly within the regional government environment. Visiting Day 2026 not only served as a means to expand academic and professional insights but also strengthened students’ understanding of public policy implementation, governance, and human resource management in the public sector. It is hoped that the experiences and knowledge gained during this activity will serve as a foundation for participants in developing their competencies and contributions as future public administrators.
